Missing those post-gig nerves

Usually the day of a gig I’m not nervous until I’ve finished setting up all my gear. Even when I’ve got some spare time before the gig to have a drink, the nerves are sitting there at the pit of my stomach. That’s usually why I always have to pee before I go on stage. It’s not the kind of nerves that makes me want to run, it’s more like, intense excitement. Like a puppy when they see you put on your shoes. Yes, I just compared myself to a puppy.

I haven’t felt those nerves for a while and out of everything I thought I would miss, seeing/playing with my mates, the crowd, the loudness of it all, I miss the post-gig nerves the most.

Here’s a picture of our set up at Finding Fillmores in Kiama earlier on this year. We were so excited to play this gig. Morgan, Becky, and the rest of the team, thank you so much for having us. We can’t wait to come back.

Keep an eye on the Kiama Jazz & Blues Festival page for updates. The festival is definitely worth the trip. The music is great, and the community are super welcoming and lovely.
